Many families enjoy taking a beach vacation over the 4thof July holiday. And why wouldn’t they? Have you seen a fireworks show on the beach? Spectacular. Not to mention all the exciting themed activities the resorts and businesses have available during the holiday. Hilton Head is one beach town that likes to celebrate in style. Here’s what you can look forward to this year:

Shelter Cove Celebration

SO much more than just fireworks. The HarbourFest celebration at Shelter Cove features food, crafts, and live entertainment. Of course, fireworks can be seen at dusk.

Outside Hilton Head

How about seeing the fireworks from in the water? Go for a 2-hour guided kayak tour before finishing by watching the HarbourFest fireworks.

The Salute from the Shore

There’s more to this holiday than fireworks! If you would rather take in an airshow during the day than to brave the beaches, you’ll want to make sure to check out this airshow. You’ll find it happening all along the Hilton Head shoreline from 1:00 – 1:30 on the 4th.

2019 HH Firecracker Run

Early bird runners won’t want to miss this 5K that starts at Jarvis Park at 8:00 a.m. Bring the whole family! Kids can run various distances as well after the race.

Other Places to See Fireworks:

Skull Creek 4th of July Celebration

Start celebrating at 6:00 p.m. at Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks with entertainment, food and drinks. Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm, from a barge in Skull Creek.

Sea Pines – Harbour Town 4th of July Celebration

Festivities at Harbour Town include music, food, & kids’ activities, after a $6 entrance fee. Stay for the fireworks that start at 9:00 p.m.

Many of the same weekly activities you find throughout the summer are still taking place over the holiday, but some may be rescheduled. If you are expecting to attend a regular-occurring activity, it’s a good idea to double check if it will still take place. If not, there will be plenty of other things to do instead.

Don’t forget to reserve your bikes in advance for the 4thof July, too! It’s a popular day for touring the island on two wheels, so we want to make sure we have something in stock when you’re ready to ride. Happy 4th!
