Some of the best parts of fall are the festivals in Hilton Head you can enjoy with the whole family. While we don’t get the gorgeous colors of the changing leaves like you’ll find in the Appalachian Mountains, there’s still plenty of fall fun to be had right here on the island. The best part is that you can rent bikes for the family and bike to check out these festivals in Hilton Head!

Shrimp Festival

If you and your family are big on shrimp, you’ll have to mark September 23rd on your calendar for the annual Hilton Head Island Shrimp Festival. From 1 pm to 4 pm at the Sea Pines Resort, you and your family can enjoy savory shrimp dishes prepared by 18 different chefs, craft beers from local breweries, and listen to live music by local band Groove Town Assault. There will also be a Kid Zone with arts and crafts, a bounce house, and face painting.

Harbour Town Fall Fest

If you’re still in town after the Shrimp Festival, stick around Harbour Town for their Fall Fest. There will be a variety of activities to choose from that’s sure to please everyone in the family. With a sidewalk sale, classic car show, children’s activities, boat rides, watersports, and live music, we guarantee you’ll have a blast.

Jeep Island

If your family lives the Jeep life, you may want to check out Jeep Island 2023! This two-day event starts with a Meet and Greet at Autonation for check-in. You can meet other Jeepers, grab a swag bag, and buy a raffle ticket for your chance to win either a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport or a New SpecOps TreeHaus Camping Trailer! Saturday kicks off at the Coastal Discovery Museum with Show and Shine competitions, chili tastings, a kid zone, live music, and more! Even if you don’t have a Jeep, spectators are encouraged to attend for just $10!

Fish and Grits Music Festival

One of the best things about Hilton Head is the food, and the Fish and Grits Music Festival celebrates that while showcasing great musical talent as well. This October 7th at 11 am, learn about the rich Gullah Geechee culture, listen to some music, and indulge in the delicious local cuisine.

Italian Heritage Festival

Another cultural festival to check out this fall is the Italian Heritage Festival on October 21st from 11 am til 4 pm at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. This celebration of Italian culture will have food (of course), live entertainment, a grape stomping contest, a pizza eating contest, a silent auction, and so much more. Tickets are only $6 per person, and kids under ten get in free!

Just because summer is over doesn’t mean the fun has to be. Hilton Head has plenty to offer families of all ages and backgrounds, so don’t wait and book your fall Hilton Head vacation today!
