Some things can only be done in certain places. When you go to Vegas, you try the slots; when you go to Philly, you eat a cheesesteak; when you go to Cleveland, you see the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. What do you do when you go to the beach? There are actually a few different activities in Hilton Head you need to try.

Eat Some Shrimp & Grits

The Lowcountry is known for its delicious seafood. Specifically, Hilton Head is famous for shrimp and grits. Head to The Lowcountry Backyard for an authentic taste.

Golf at Palmetto Dunes

If you’re coming to Hilton Head to golf – and chances are that you are – you have many good courses from which to choose. Golfing Palmetto Dunes will give you a top-class experience for a little less than some premier courses.

Go on a Dolphin Cruise

Because Hilton Head is so eco-friendly, sea critters come out in abundance. Visit a few on a cruise.

Ride on a Bike Trail

With over 60 miles of bike trails on the island, you can see just about anything you want in this Velo-friendly community by riding a bike. Or just go for the fresh air and exercise! If you didn’t bring your own, don’t worry! We have several bikes that you and your whole family can rent.

Shop at Harbour Town

What trip to Hilton Head would be complete without seeing the iconic candy cane-striped lighthouse? It’s a great place to pick up a few souvenirs, too.

See the Sea Turtles

The town of Hilton Head has environmental ordinances just to protect sea turtles. So come on out to take a look. Just be careful not to disturb them, so they will keep coming back.

Relax on the Beach

Okay, so you can do this at many locations, but there’s no sunset like a Hilton Head sunset.

Of course, this list only scratches the surface of the many activities to try in Hilton Head. Come down for a visit and see what else you would add!
