One of the biggest events of the year in Hilton Head is the Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival. Unfortunately, due to the number of visitors it typically attracts, this event has been cancelled for 2020. However, since it is an annual event, planning is already in the works for 2021. It’s never too early to start preparing a trip to attend next year’s event! Here’s what you need to know about the festival so you’re in the know before you go.
Background
What exactly is the Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival? It focuses on luxury, mostly in the automotive department, but it includes fine dining as well. The festival has typically taken place the first week of November and brings hundreds of mostly vintage cars, boats, and airplanes to show.
Side Events
The festival usually kicks off with a top-notch dining experience at a local Hilton Head area venue, accompanied by fine spirits. Other dining events take place throughout the week as well as a film extravaganza.
The Main Show
The events most people come for are the vehicle showcases that typically take place later in the week, by invitation. The Car Club Showcase will display classic cars, hot rods, sports cars, custom cars, and exotic cars in beautiful groupings at the Port Royal Golf Club. Don’t miss the awards from the Classic Car Club of America. At the same time, and with the same ticket, you can travel over to the HHI Airport for the Aero Show, by shuttle if you prefer. The event culminates on Sunday with a display of a marque vehicle and the celebrated honor of Best in Show.
Since the 2020 Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival will be quiet, imagine how much of a bang 2021 will make, figuratively speaking, of course. Be prepared and book your Hilton Head getaway now for October 29 through November 7, 2021.
