If coming to Hilton Head means coming on vacation to relax, and if your idea of relaxing means locally crafted spirits or a glass of fine wine in your hand, you have come to the right place. Hilton Head has several distilleries and wineries that meet those needs in a fun and fulfilling way.

Hilton Head Distillery

More than just a distillery, this is an experience. And it’s one you’ll want to try if you really want to get to know some premium spirits. All products are made on the island, so you can expect to really get a taste of South Carolina drinks. No reservations are necessary but plan to spend plenty of time here, as you can tour the facility or experience any number of tastings available on site.

Island Winery

If wine is more your taste, come visit the Island Winery. Tastings are complimentary with the purchase of a bottle of wine. So whether you prefer red or white, take your time deciding on a favorite. You can stay for a simple cheese platter, or you can make an entire experience out of your visit with a package deal. When you’re finished, you can head to the shop to take home what you liked the best, and maybe pick up some custom wine labels too.

What You Need to Know About Alcohol Consumption on Hilton Head Island

Alcohol is not permitted on public beaches on the island. Fines of up to $500 could be incurred for this infraction. Alcohol can only be purchased at a grocery store or gas station on Sundays, as South Carolina liquor stores are closed on Sundays. Or, be served your drinks at one of the many night clubs on the island!

Get ready to spend a day on the Island exploring the best we have to offer in fine wines and good spirits. Become a connoisseur or just try them all. Either way, you’ll come out with a true taste of South Carolina.
