The real question is “Why shouldn’t you visit Hilton Head in December?” The holiday season is jam-packed with special events and activities throughout the month, and Savannah and Beaufort aren’t far away if you run out of festive fun in Hilton Head. The island is aglow with Christmas light displays, and you can often hear the sounds of live musical performances as you stroll through town. Here are several more reasons why Hilton Head is a great place to visit in December.
Since it’s considered the “off-season” one of the biggest bonuses to visiting Hilton Head in December is scoring major discounts on lodging accommodations. Not only that, you’ll avoid tourist crowds and won’t have to wait in long lines for dinner.
The weather is another great reason to visit Hilton Head in December since the daily temperatures tend to stay in the low to mid-60s. You might even get lucky enough to experience a few days in the 70s or 80s! Sunny days in December on the island are perfect for bike riding, golfing, or even taking a kayak out on the water.
